A paddyfield in Sri Lanka
Paddy is a main crop in Sri Lanka. The most people of Sri Lanka are farmers. Farmers grow paddy in different ways. They grow vegetables, fruits and grains. The most farmers grow paddy in Sri Lanka. They can grow paddy well. They got water from tank. There are many tanks in Sri Lanka. Some of them are Tissawewa, Abhayawewa, Padaviyawewa and Parakramasamudraya. There are three tanks in my village, Mahawilachchiya. I like paddy cultivation.
Our temple is Sri Sudarshanaramaya. It has a dhamma school. Its name is Sri Mihindu Dhamma School. It has a big bo tree, a big pagoda and a beautiful pond. There are beautiful fish in the temple’s pond. There are five monks in our temple. I go to temple on poya days. It is very beautiful at night. I love my temple.
My pet is a rabbit. Its name is Sudu. It can run fast. I got it for my tenth birthday. It is white in colour. It is like a snowflake. It has a bow. It is red in colour. I play with my pet. It plays with a ball. It is not cruel, but my sister’s pet Tommy does not like Sudu. When I come to home it is very happy. It watches TV with me daily. I bath it daily. But it does not like to bath. I give food to it daily. When I do my homework it is sleep on my table. It likes to eat grass and carrot. I sleep with my pet in my bed. I love my pet.
My hobby is collecting stamps. It is also called philately. It is a good hobby. I have about 100 stamps. I can enjoy from my hobby. My mother and father help me to collect stamps. I have 80 foreign stamps. I buy stamps from post office. I get stamps from my friends. I collect stamps in my free time. I like my hobby.
Mr. H. M. Abeykoon
Our Principal is Mr. H. M. Abeykoon. He works at Central College, Anuradhapura. He is good and kind. He has a car. It is blue. He comes to school by his car. He can control our school well and teach well. He punishes us, but we like him. His favourite colour is blue. I love him.
Anuradhapura
Anuradhapura is an ancient city in Sri Lanka. There are a lot of ancient places in Anuradhapura. Some of them are Thantirimalaya, Ruwanweli Maha Seya, and Thuparamaya. A lot of reservoirs are there in Anuradhapura.
A canal in Mahawilachchiya
My village is Mahawilachchiya. It is a nice and big village. There are two schools, two temples, and many things in my village. My village has a lot of things. There are a big reservoir. Many people live in my village. My village is very beautiful. Paddy, pumpkin and many grains grow in my village. I love my village.
Central College, Anuradhapura
My school is Central College, Anuradhapura. It is a big and a nice school. There are many trees and bushes in my school. My school is the nicest school in Anuradhapura district. There are 4000 students and 250 teachers in my school. Our principle is Mr. H. M. Abeykoon. There is a big playground, three canteens, two libraries and many buildings in my school. I love my school.
My grandfather’s name is Punchibanda. He is 80 years old. He is my mother’s father. He is good and kind. He has four daughters and two sons. He helps me to do my homework. He is a good farmer. He grows paddy and grains. He lives in Levangama. He tells a lot of stories to me. I love my grandfather.
Nethmi Uthpala
My sister’s name is Nethmi Uthpala. She is in grade thee. Her school is Sddhartha Maha Vidyalaya. Her hobby is playing football. Her favorite colour is pink. She can dance well. She is eight years old. I play football with her. She has a nice bicycle and a lot of dolls. I love my sister.
